" The Karate of Gerardo Cantore "

A new school of world karate has been born from the Argentina Patagonia mountain, and it's seems to be very healthy, solid and real.It is not an improvisation in hands of an adventurer.His founder is Gerardo Cantore Sensei. An original master in OKINAWAN KARATE (Uruguayan of birth, Argentinean for option)graduated as Kudan (9th Dan) in the lineage of the Great Master Tatsuo Shimabuko (Isshin ryu),and that is also 9th Dan in Aikijujitsu and 9th Dan in Shorin Ryu Karate Do.In parallel, he completed his formation living per years in Far East (Japan, China, Thailand, Laos, India, Nepal, Russia ...),GERARDO CANTORE ( Ushi San * ) is born (who knows why) in Montevideo, Uruguay. At the age of 4 he shows inclination towards Far East and at the age of 7 he began his formation in Martial arts.He practiced Karate ( in Erwin School of stree Ponce ), and Aikijujitsu( in the Institute Kamakura of the street Mercedes ) at the same time.Cantore was born in a well-off family of Montevideo in the neighborhood of Positos.He leaved his paternal house at the age of 12 to go to the private secondary school, in the outskirts of Montevideo. Then he would begin a trip without comeback full of bags, trains, ships, buses, hitchhiking, temples, dojos, houses, routes, meals, no meals,Teachers, places, cultures, countries, etc... It was his fate, clearly.He never stopped up to today practicing his dear Okinawa Karate and Aikijujitsu.In 1979 he leaves Uruguay with destination Argentina, his first port. He studies Philosophy and Theology at the University andpractices Martial arts with the best local Teachers.He never stopped practicing with every Teacher he found on his way:"I always tried to find the people with whom to learn and whom to teach, and in that way to earn a bed and meal.I only need that - he says -I would liked to be lucky to have been practicing my entire life next to a teacher, but my destination was different,and I did not look for it like that, but I adapt myself what the life wants of me ".In Argentina he practiced with the Teachers of the Instructors of Uruguay.In Japan with the Teachers of the Instructors of ArgentinaIn China, he trains the roots of the systems of Japanand in India, the roots of the Chinese systems.Between the Teachers who formed it, they corrected, examined and adjusted we can name to:Geo London (Aikijujitsu) Uruguay. Shoei Miyazato (Karate) Argentina. Masatoshi Oshiro (Karate) Peru, Katsuya Miyahira (Karate)Japan, Angi Uezu (Karate) Japan. Shi Yeng Houng (Shaolin Monk) China. Maha Soumboun (Meditation) Laos.Yeshe Tensing Sanyang (Meditation) Nepal. Osshoni Sasaki (Meditation) India.He is graduated like:9th Dan in Karate and Kobudo de Okinawa in 2 school : Isshin Ryu and Shorin Ryu ,also 9th Dan in Aikijujitsu y 2 schools (Ryuhas) Takeda Ryu and Yawara Ryu .Recently he received the 10th Dan in Shinshinkan Karate do.He is also a Grandmaster member of World Head Of Family Sokeship Council from 2000 year .In the year 2005 assume completely this new stage:Soke of Shinshinkan Karate do (Founder and world head)" With this I have sufficiently. I will do my best in the years that I have left in this life.This is my part and my place in this life ".Tired of the politics in the Martial arts, of the business and departments,he opens sea to share the common thing, and to show Shinshinkan Karate do to whom wants to see it.Far from the competitions in any of its forms. Only sweat and transparence."If somebody asks me for a synthesis I would say to him:I practice karate do.I learn from those that know more and I teach to those that know less.It is my form to evolve integrally and to help the others.I share the common thing, I leave differences in my house, I look for the center.From the technical and philosophical point of view karate is one.SHINSHINKAN is a strong mind and strong body with a moral life.Karate is already universal.We neither bring nor take cultures with karate.Karate is empty (Kara) , clean¿Competitions?We do not need them.If not, let's look at the faces of "winners" and "losers" in the soccer world cup:euphoric or depressed, something is missing, there is not balance.Only practice, that is the spirit of the Zen one. I do not introduce myself like great fighter.I introduce myself like a former.There is a group of pupils that they begin to show how pretty it is to practice aprogram that includes the different and complete aspects of the karate:kihon, kata, kotekitae, makiwara, bunkai kata, zazen, Kumite¿no contact combat?... Sorry, I do not understand...¿schools? Karate has too many things in common to remain in the differences.Let's be one, let's respect the ranks without taking care about schools,the Kan can never be more important that the Ryu, as well as there can never be more important the Ryu than the karate.The generation of the old men is dying;it is our responsibility now.... let's do it well, to show respect and gratitude to our biggest and to our minors.Neither living through the illusion of representing a medieval character from another culture, nor going to the sport.It is not necessary to be an Argentinean to dance well tango or English to play well soccer.An age of the karate ended in Japan.Even me, that I am a mediocre practitioner, I have pupils in Japan.Let's just do it well.
